The interface to the PC is through the serial port. The TX, RX, RTS and DTR lines are used to program the devices in circuit.

Note: Using a USB to RS232 converter will not work.
If you are using a 25 pins serial port, then you will have to use the RX, TX, DTR and RTS lines from the 25 pins D type connector.
